THE NEED FOR COMMUNITY ACCESS
The Ontario Science Centre is a place where children and families come to explore, discover and learn together. It is a place that encourages, inspires and challenges visitors to ask questions and search for answers.
The Centre is committed to bringing the gift of science learning to visitors, even when they are unable to afford to visit. Last year, through the Centre's Community Access Programs, such as Adopt-a-Class, over 90,000 children and families were provided with the benefits of a Science Centre visit. Through the Adopt-a-Class program school groups from underserved neighbourhoods in Toronto receive unforgettable science learning and experiences. The cost to adopt one class is $1,000.
Funds raised through the RBC Innovators' Ball support the Science Centre and its vital Community Access Programs. An Adopt-a-Class Challenge is held the evening of the Ball, in which individuals, corporately or as a table, are asked to adopt a class in support of sending eager and excited students to the Science Centre.
Thanks to the donors at the 2017 RBC Innovators' Ball, 118 classes will be supported through the Adopt-a-Class Program.
Without the support of donors, patrons and sponsors of the RBC Innovators’ Ball, we would not be able to provide access to Ontario’s next generation of innovators.
